LeadingAge Iowa is a statewide membership organization of non-profit providers of aging services and supports and the champion for advancement and innovation in aging services. Our mission is to be the voice, support and connector for non-profit members and the people they serve. Our membership is diverse, representing the spectrum of non-profit long-term support and service providers including skilled nursing, assisted and independent living, PACE, home health, adult day, respite, hospice and home delivered meals.  Our members serve over 25,000 older adults in Iowa each day.

Bills You Need to Know – What's Impacting You on July 1 

The calendar year begins for the state of Iowa on July 1. That is the date that the majority of new legislation goes into effect. 

Here is what you need to know about new bills that will be impacting you on July 1: 

  • Nursing Facility Rebase Funding – The nursing facility rebase will technically go into effect on July 1, however, LAI members will not see it impact their rates until later this year. IME must submit a State Plan Amendment (SPA) to CMS to get full approval. IME will retro back your payments to reflect the changes.

Nominations Now Open for 2019 LeadingAge Iowa Awards & Sterling Recognitions 

Nominations for the 2019 LeadingAge Iowa's awards program are now being accepted here.  LAI's award program recognizes individuals and organizations that put quality first, deliver excellence and inspire others to do the same.  Organizational members of LAI are invited to submit nominations for the 2019 LeadingAge Iowa awards program.  Award recipients will be recognized in conjunction with LeadingAge Iowa Fall Leadership Conference on September 11 at the Double Tree Hotel in Cedar Rapids. 

Nominate a noteworthy achievement or a staff member, board member or volunteer making a difference. The deadline to nominate is July 1, 2019
