LAI Medication Manager Certification Course Registration Now Open LeadingAge Iowa’s Medication Manager Certification course is now open for registration and meets the new DIA requirements for medication administration in assisted living, adult day and elder group homes, effective March 1, 2021. Registrants will experience a research-based course with video demonstrations, interactive activities, and quizzes to ensure comprehension. The course has been designed to be mobile and tablet friendly, allowing registrants to take the course from any location with internet access. Pursuant to Iowa Administrative Code 481--67.5(2)(f), any non-licensed individual administering medications in an assisted living program, adult day services, or elder group home must have at a minimum successfully completed a medication manager certification course. DIA has extended the effective date for the minimum requirements for medication managers from January 1, 2021 for March 1, 2021, meaning all unlicensed staff who administer medications must complete the course and clinical practicum by then.
