Governor Reynolds Extends Regulatory Relief and Social Distancing Requirements for Additional Month

Today, Governor Reynolds extended regulatory relief related to COVID-19 and public health mitigation measures to July 25, 2020. These measures include the requirements to maintain social distancing in bars, restaurants movie theaters, and similar venues.

Regulatory relief measures previously implemented remain in effect. This includes regulatory relief for nursing facilities, assisted living, and other aging services providers and professional licensing relief for RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.

The Governor’s proclamation also includes the section asking all vulnerable Iowans, including those with preexisting conditions and those older than 65 to limit their activities outside of the home, including visits to businesses and other establishments and their participation in gatherings of any size and any purpose.

Finally, the proclamation continues the restrictions on mass gatherings. They are permissible, but only if proper social distancing requirements are met.
