Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Lifespace Communities, Inc. is the 11th largest not-for profit provider of senior housing and services in the U.S. These organizations are commonly referred to as Continuing Care Retirement Communities or CCRCs; they offer residential congregate living, with assisted living and health centers [licensed skilled nursing programs] available on the same campus for those residents who may eventually require such health services. While mission driven, Lifespace operates like a for- profit. Founded in 1976 by a Des Moines entrepreneur with the mission of “creating communities celebrating the lives of seniors, it has 12 campuses in seven states serving nearly 5,000 resident seniors. The pending acquisition of Senior Quality Lifestyles Corp, if successful, will extend operations into Texas and add 5 campuses, moving forward towards its stated goal of serving 10,000 residents in its communities by the year 2027.  Lifespace has supported a strong financial operations model, having grown to nearly $900 million in assets, with diversified operating revenues exceeding $250 million; and a net operating margin exceeding six [6] percent the past several years. Lifespace has maintained an investment grade rating, evidenced in part by a very solid cash and near cash position of approximately $150 million.  Reporting directly to the President/CEO, the SVP/CFO will be responsible for providing leadership, vision and direction of the fiscal functions of the organization. This includes financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems and overseeing the general accounting, accounts payable/receivables systems. S/he will be actively involved in and leading corporate and community mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, budgeting and tax-exempt debt financing. BA/BS degree is required. Master’s degree and CPA preferred.  Regional Executive Director – Senior Living Services

NEW!  Due to our growth and the continued expansion of our ministry, WesleyLife has a unique opportunity for an experienced and successful senior living leader to join our organization as the Regional Executive Director for our new Quad Cities services.  For the past 72 years, WesleyLife has built a reputation of excellence and is known in the Midwest as a progressive and thought-leading organization in the senior living and services industry.   As a health and wellbeing organization, WesleyLife’s networks provide a full continuum of services including traditional brick-and-mortar operations as well as home health, hospice, personal services, adult day services, transportation and home-delivered meals.

The Regional Executive Director serves as the operational leader for WesleyLife’s new joint venture with Genesis Health Systems in the Quad Cities area.  Initially, leadership will include existing services in DeWitt, Iowa and Silvis, Illinois as well as the development of new senior living communities in Bettendorf and other Quad Cities locations.   With support from WesleyLife as the managing partner and in collaboration with Genesis Health, you will have the opportunity bring a new network of health and wellness services to the older adults in Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois.  Further, you will impact people’s lives through a focus on person-centered and hospitality services, the engagement of team members in our efforts to transform the experience of aging, and bringing new and innovative programs and services to the region! 

The ideal candidate for the Regional Executive Director:

  • Has at least five years of leadership experience in a larger single site or in a multi-site CCRC organization. 
  • Is able to demonstrate the ability to effectively lead and deliver outcomes.
  • Has a solid track record of successfully creating customer and team member experiences aligned with WesleyLife’s health and wellness philosophies. 
  • Can effectively lead through change and inspire their teams to take their great work and make it even better – all with a focus on serving older adults in ways which allow them to live engaged and purpose-filled lives! 
  • A Master’s-level prepared executive is preferred, a Bachelor’s Degree is required.   
  • You must be a licensed administrator in Iowa and/or Illinois.   

Our new Regional Leader must be a mission-focused and values-based leader while also demonstrating the ability to focus on results.  The ability to inspire and support the team around a shared set of expectations and outcomes as well as excellent communication and people skills are important for this role.    Compensation for this position is strong and relocation support will be provided.  (Residency in the greater Quad Cities area is required.)
